Popular Yantras - How to choose and use themYantras are used in Vedic Astrology and Vastu as remedial measure to positively enhance the key planet/s influencing your horoscope or various directions of your property. The highest remedial measure is japa (chanting) of the mantras accompanying the yantras, and the highest mantra especially recommended in the Vedas for this Kali age (of quarrel) is the mahamantra:
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare The power of the yantra is increased by chanting the respective mantras (as shown in order in table below). You may select your personal yantras by your Ascendant sign (Lagna), or your Moon sign (Rasi), or your Sun sign. In Vedic Astrology, the Ascendant and Moon sign are generally regarded as being more significant than the Sun sign. Use the table below to choose the yantras corresponding to your personal zodiac signs.
In regards to Vastu, the set of all the above yantras can be used to enhance the auspiciousness of the various directions of your property (including the entrance), and reduce the negative effects arising from any Vastu defects (non-conformity to Vastu principles). The eight directional yantras (from Vasudeva to Kurma in above table) are placed at or near the points where the eight compass directions radiating from the centre cut the inside of the main walls defining your building space. The entrance yantra (Matsya) may be affixed on the inside wall over the main door. The Shri Yantra is affixed on the wall in the region of the North (or the NorthEast or East) to activate the important zones for prosperity. To give some examples of positioning, the arrowheads in the diagrams below indicate the yantra placement points for two rectangular building spaces which are about the same size but aligned differently from the cardinal North.
The simplest way to install the yantras is to chant the corresponding mantra at least three times and affix the yantra (at a reasonable height to be viewed clearly) at or near the respective points of the projected directions of the compass (considering aesthetics and other factors, of course). It is best to install the yantras on a good muhurtha (timing) when you are clean and in good consciousness. If a muhurtha is not readily available, then do it during one of the following general good timings:
After putting up the yantras, enhance their effectiveness by chanting the mantras daily (in the order shown in above table), each verse thrice. This should take no more than five minutes of your time daily. When you begin to enjoy the chanting and would like to do more, just increase chanting the mahamantra to 108 times (to keep count, use beads, rosary or any counter). If you can maintain this chanting without fail daily, it means that you have achieved a spiritual breakthrough, a sure sign that you are already on the road to making a success of your life!
